wWw Geneva Tasting - Chez Les Presidents!

The event, held on April 15, was a tasting of whiskeys held in one of the presidents' home. Though only 4 women attended, there was serious passion for the distinct whiskeys everyone brought.

We started with "Queen Margot" a blended scotch. Margot is an affordable and an easy scotch to drink. It smells a little like rum and has some caramel notes. We continued with a Ballentine's Brasil edition, which is considered a spirit (it's mixed with Brazilian lime zest). This was a great surprise and quite an interesting spirit to drink on warmer days, matching completely the 19°C sunny degrees we have in Geneva at the moment.

Josana then presented her favorite distillery, Glenfarclas! The 12-year made us feel like grown-ups after the previous whiskeys. It's a full bodied, delightful sherried fruit, with oak, a hint of peat and delicious sweet sensations.

Amy then presented her Ballentine's Christmas Reserved edition, as it was about time to finish the Christmas bottle! The Taste of Christmas’ campaign communicates the expression’s signature festive characteristics and captures the sensory experience of its seven tasting notes: ginger, moist raisin fruitcake, ripe pears, sweet candy apples, caramel toffee, tangy orange and liquorish root. We finished the event by trying to make Caipirinhas out of the Ballentine's Brasil edition--and then the "Whiskerinha" was born. Such a delight and so very highly recommended!
